With the 9th season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship well underway, the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team is leading the charge in the world of electric racing. Leading in both the individual and team standings, the Porsche team looks to complete a sweep of the prizes with the second half of races remaining. Sitting in first place overall amongst the drivers, Pascal Wehrlein looks to grow his lead in his Porsche 99X Electric.
The History of the Formula E
Starting in 2014, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship has some of the most thrilling tracks, vehicles, and technology, pushing drivers and their teams to new limits each year. Racing in iconic cities like Mexico City, London, Berlin, Cape Town, São Paulo, and Monaco, the Formula E series excites fans from all around the globe. The sport has quickly grown in popularity due to its ability to incorporate city streets and existing sports stadiums, making the races much more engaging for local spectators. This has allowed a new generation of motorsport fans worldwide as electric vehicles and their drivers continue pushing the boundaries.
Porsche Leads the Race
Eight races into the season, the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team leads in both the individual and team standings, with Pascal Wehrlein leading the individual racers. The Porsches team has seen the podium multiple times this season, even securing wins from both team drivers, Pascal Wehrlein at the Diriyah E-Prix and António Félix Da Costa at the Cape Town E-Prix. With another eight races in the season, the Porsche team is in a prime position to secure a Formula E Championship.
