The 2025 Porsche 911 992.2 generation is about to be released, and there’s plenty to break down with it. The biggest news for the updated 911 is the new powertrains lined up. In addition to the new engine options, you can also expect the interior and exterior to receive updates across the board. While a host of new changes are coming, the 911 retains its core design philosophy and ethos that have caused drivers to fall in love with it since the 60s. We expect the 2025 Porsche 911 to debut in early summer and expect to have inventory shortly thereafter. Porsche enthusiasts in Oklahoma City, Edmond, and Norman won’t want to miss this release. Visit Porsche OKC to test drive the new Porsche 911 for sale once it becomes available!

Porsche 911 Updates & Designs

The 2025 911 makes subtle updates and takes notes from where previous generations have left off. Eagle-eyed consumers will notice new bumpers, lights, mirrors, and wheels. Hints from released images also indicate changes to the front end, with five vertical louvers in each outboard air intake. We also expect to find trim-specific bumpers, active lower front air dams, and single or dual exhaust options. The interior is also expected to receive updates, but until the release this summer, we don’t have any confirmed changes. We expect the 2025 911 to debut with ten different trim levels, with more information regarding differences to follow.

2025 Porsche 911 Powertrains

The meat of the changes to the 2025 generation comes in the form of powertrains. We expect the GTS and Turbo trim levels to leave behind the 3.0—and 3.7-liter forced-induction flat-six engines in favor of a twin-turbo 3.9-liter engine. We also expect a naturally aspirated engine to replace the 4.0-liter found on the GT3, GR3 RS, and S/T. Carrera’s base model should continue with the 3.0-liter flat-six mentioned above but with increased horsepower and torque. While information is still being gathered and released, all 911 models should see more power and torque than previous models. In addition to the standard gas engine, the 2025 911 also brings a hybrid powertrain to the table!

2025 Porsche 911 Hybrid

The 911’s first hybrid powertrain was likely a collaboration with Rimac. The hybrid powertrain is said to incorporate a 400-volt electrical system, an integrated starter-generator, and an electric motor that will propel the front wheels. We also expect a 2.0 kWh battery that can be replenished by the gas engine or regenerative braking. The hybrid powertrain should consist of a 3.0-liter flat-six that generates 395 horsepower, with an electric engine that brings the total to 475 horsepower. The hybrid 911 will only have a standard automatic transmission, leaving behind the optional manual, which is still available on the gas engines. There’s a rumor that Porsche is working on a more powerful hybrid powertrain for the 2025 model, which will range up to 520 horsepower.
